"they shall see the smoke of her burning.." Well if all the world leaders can see the smoke of her burning, then she has to be a newtwok of countries, perhaps an empire where the sun never sets. 2. Is there any country or empire out there whose destruction would cause every merchant in the world to hurt? Look at the G8 (Biggest economies): Brittain, France, Germany, Russia, Japan, Italy, Canada, USA - woe. This is talking about a country that buys every merchant's merchandise. It has become more and more evident that Christians are being persecuted in various ways. One in particular is Kent Hovind who was inprisoned for a decade. In conclusion, a lot of people point to the reference that Babylon is a city, however during that time, countries were called cities. Nevertheless, think logically, is there a city on earth that if destroyed would cause the whole earth to hurt economically and politically because they don't buy the earth's products anymore? Are you kidding me? No way. Is there even a country or countries that fit this description? The G8, the world's beggest economies: Brittain, France, Germany, Russia, Japan, Italy, Canada, USA - woe or even a non G8 country: China. Which one of these countries fits the description?
